Wimpstone on Stour
Stratford Angling Associations unspoilt stretch of the Stour at Wimpstone ... you might want to get your roving rod out !

The Wimpstone stretch off wimpstone lane covers both sides of the road, downstream is a natural, wild and prehistoric looking with half a dozen accessible swims, some quite steep banks, broken down trees and interesting twisty turny swims, a good man with a roving rod might find some decent fish and the stretch is known to produce sizable predators !

The Wimpstone stretch upstream is more accessible, narrow in places with a few glides and deep sections, some nice looking swims closer to the bridge and plenty of sheep to keep you company, its not deep at around 4 feet consistently, caster, hempseed and corn are all good options, there are decent chub and roach in this section !
